Bachelor of Aviation Management
Introduction:
Aviation has become a vital component of modern life, as it offers a convenient, secure, and rapid mode of transportation. In Nepal, the aviation sector has seen considerable expansion over the last ten years, contributing significantly to the development of the tourism industry. As a contracting member of ICAO, Nepal is dedicated to upholding and surpassing the organization's standards, with an emphasis on enhancing human resources in the aviation field. However, the aviation industry requires qualified and skilled manpower, particularly at the managerial level, but there is a limited pool of professionals with specialization in aviation management. This is mainly due to the unavailability of aviation management courses in Nepal.
The need for a course in aviation management has been highlighted by many experts in the field. The experts have also suggested that there is a demand for aviation management courses, and if offered at reputed universities, it could attract students from neighboring countries as well. Aviation management courses have been successfully running in many South Asian countries like India and Sri Lanka, and it is high time that a similar course well suited to the demand of the Nepali local market is designed to cater to the industry needs.
