MBA Course Evaluation

In each semester the faculty members responsible for the course do evaluation of academic performance of students in each course offered. The academic performance of the students will be judged through:

  • Continuous In-semester Assessment and
  • End-semester Examination.

The Continuous In-semester Assessment of the student will be made by the concerned faculty member in any or a combination of

  • Written test
  • Quizzes and oral test
  • Workshop practices
  • Assignments
  • Term paper
  • Project work
  • Case studies, analysis and discussion
  • Open Book test
  • Class participation etc.

The End-semester examination is normally a paper and pencil test.

 

The mode of evaluation in a given course is decided by the concerned faculty member who may assign varying weights to one or more of the evaluation modes. The faculty members will announce such weights in the beginning of the course.

 

Grading Mode

In each course, student will be evaluated on a 4-point scale.

Failures, Probation and Dismissal

  • A student must maintain a semester Grade Point Average (TGPA) of 2.00 or above at the end of each semester.
  • No student can graduate with 'F' in any particular course.
  • A student must to gain CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.00 or above at the end of the Program.
  • If student gets more than two 'F's in any semester, he will be subject dismissal from the program.

Recognition for Academic Achievement

High scholastic achievement of students is recognized upon gradation by awarding Graduation with Merit based on CGPA as follows:

Recognition Criteria* Indication
Summa cum laude CGPA = 3.9 and above Graduation with highest merit
Magna cum laude CGPA = 3.7 and above Graduation with high merit
Cum laude CGPA = 3.5 and above Graduation with merit

*To graduate with merit student should have no C-, D+, and D grades in any course.

In-semester Recognition

Recognition Criteria*
Inclusion in Dean’s List CGPA of 3.7 or above with no Cs, Ds, or F
Inclusion in Vice-Chancellor’s List CGPA of  4.0

* Applicable for semester of 12 or more credit hours
